Congrats to Matthew A. on winning G Rico's NFL Playoffs 2012 Contest! Matthew earned an impressive total of 2,800 out of a possible 4,000 points, and he correctly guessed the victors of 9 of the 11 playoff games, including the Super Bowl victor. David M. finished right behind Matthew in 2nd place with 2,760 points, while Jorge M. placed in 3rd with 2,735 points. Twelve other contestants also won Amazon gift card prizes: Jeremy G., Ray A., Jami L., Stuart H.Ed V.Jack P.Paul M., Jim A., Aimee A., Jeni M., Richard N., and John M. Overall, Jeni M. improved the most in the rankings, going from 51st place in WEEK 1 to 13th place in WEEK 4. Other contestants who made big comebacks were Richard N. (50th to 14th), Rob N. (56th to 20th), and Gary A. (51st to 18th). Looking back, there are 6 contestants in the final Top 15 who were not there back in WEEK 1: Ray A., Ed V., Jim A., Jeni M., Richard N., and John M.

31 contestants correctly picked the New York Giants as this year's Super Bowl champions. Only 5 contestants got both the victor and the margin of victory (Aimee A., Gines V., Matthew A., Rob N., and Tim H.). Once again, no one earned the maximum number of points for the week (1,700 points). The closest ones were Jeremy G. with 1,350 points, Stuart H. with 1,300 points, and David M. with 1,225 points. Compared to last year, this year's contestants did a lot better, with 25 of you scoring at least 2,000 points (only 10 contestants accomplished that in 2011). By the way, just to show how important the winner of the Super Bowl was in determining this contest's winners -- if the Patriots had managed to hold on to that two-point lead in the 4th quarter, the Top 3 contestants would have been Jim A. in 1st, Jeni M. in 2nd, and Richard N. in 3rd! Also, everyone in the Top 10 correctly picked the Giants to win the game.

You can check out your final ranking and point total on the updated Contestants and Leaderboard pages.

To give everyone a chance to review the accuracy of this contest's final results, I will wait a few days before sending the Top 15 contestants their Amazon gift card prizes. During this time, if anyone finds any errors/discrepancies in the entry picks or leaderboard scores, please let me know right away. You will have until Sunday, February 12 at 10am CST to inform me of any errors. After that time, I will award the winning contestants their prizes, and this year's contest will officially come to a close.

I hope you had as much fun with this contest as I did, and I look forward to doing it again next year. 'Til then, thanks for playing and God bless!
